Education is a partnership between the parents and the school, and regular communication is essential.
A Parent Information Evening is held at the beginning of each school year. At this event, teachers provide an outline of the Curriculum and inform parents about school expectations, camps, and any other special events.
Face-to-face interviews will be conducted with parents and students at the end of Term 1.
Each semester, a student’s report is completed and shared with parents via the Parent Portal through The Learning Dashboard App.
Accountabilities to parents are reported by:
- A student report is completed at the end of each semester. This report includes:
- Uses A – E (or equivalent) descriptors
- Comments about your child’s achievement, strengths, potential areas for improvement and recommendations to assist with this.
- Provide an opportunity for parents to discuss this report with the classroom teacher via a formal interview.
Students in Years Three and Five complete the National Assessment Program – English and Numeracy (NAPLAN), and reports are provided to parents in Term Three.
Parents are welcome to make an appointment to meet with a class teacher at any time throughout the year to discuss any concerns. In many instances, this will have to be done in advance, as teachers often make other commitments before or after school. Please email your class teacher to make a suitable time or contact the front office.
